Personal data

The processing of personal data forms part of almost every business process. MJH’s lawyers assist clients in ensuring compliance with data protection legislation, taking into account the requirements of business operations and technological constraints. At the same time, we believe that the protection of personal data and an organisation’s compliance in this area are not merely regulatory requirements, but also a key element in building trust and our clients’ market reputation.

The scope of our services includes a comprehensive review of a client’s compliance, the drafting of procedures and guidelines, as well as the assessment of and response to incidents or requests from data subjects. MJH’s lawyers can also act as data protection officers.

A key part of our services is also pre-transaction analysis of an organisation’s compliance with personal data processing regulations, which we carry out for both buyers and sellers. We also conduct training on both the requirements arising directly from legislation and the rules and codes of conduct implemented within a given organisation.

Typical assignments relating to data protection legislation carried out by MJH include:

  • Analysis of implemented procedures, policies, guidelines and maintained documentation to identify gaps and areas for improvement
  • Assessment of planned or existing business processes in terms of risks relating to the processing of personal data
  • Drafting procedures, policies or guidelines on the principles of personal data processing
  • Handling requests from data subjects
